Advanced Eye Care
Our doctors and staff are passionate about using the newest and most advanced technology available in eye care to care for our patients. Taking advantage of new advancements in technology allows us to enhance your eye examination and your vision and to provide early detection and treatment of eye disease.
Optomap® Retinal Exam
The Optomap Retinal Exam is unique in that it gives our doctors a much larger view (200 degrees) of the back of the eye - your retina - than can normally be viewed without dialation.
Each Optomap image is as individual as fingerprints or DNA and can provide the doctor with a unique view of your eye health very quickly and comfortably. The Optomap image is captured in less than one second and is immediately available for you and your doctor to review.
The image captured by the Optomap can aid in detecting common diseases such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), and high cholesterol, and monitor changes in these diseases over time.
The Optomap Retinal Exam offers many advantages including:
- Provides an ultra-widefield view of the retina
- Comfortable and quick image capture
- Non-invasive
- Helps you understand your eye health
- Provides permanent records for future comparison
- The Optomap technology does not require pupil dilation, however the decision to dilate or not is a medical decision to be made by your health care professional.
- Patient can resume normal activities immediately

Corneal Topographer
The cornea is responsible for much of the eye's refractive power- that's why topology is so important in determining your quality of vision. As part of our commitment to keep up with the latest in technology in our field, our office has acquired a new corneal topographer. The three-dimensional map created by our topographer will provide valuable aid to the doctor when fitting you with contact lenses, evaluating corneal diseases, keratoconus, and patients considering refractive surgery. And, as more good news for the patient, the process is carried out in just a few seconds and is completely painless.

Heidelberg Retina Tomograph 3
Our office employs a Heidelberg Retina Tomograph 3 (HRT3) for the assessment, diagnosis and management of glaucoma. The HRT3 uses laser technology to produce a topographical image of a patient's optic nerve, providing an objective analysis of the structure's cup, rim and retinal nerve fiber layer. The HRT may diagnose glaucoma years before symptoms become apparent to the patient. Monitoring progression is important in determining the course of treatment. That's why, working with the HRT3, we monitor our patients' condition over time, comparing baseline images to follow-up examinations and highlighting areas of statistically significant progression.
The HRT exam takes just a few moments; it is a painless, non-invasive test and dilation of the eye is usually not necessary.

Digital Acuity Charts
Projection eye charts often suffer from insufficient brightness, uneven illumination, dust particles in the lens system, and non-symmetrical trapezoidal-shaped backgrounds due to angles of projection, which add up to a less accurate examination. For this reason, our office has gone high-tech with our computerized eye charts. These systems offer improved brightness and contrast for clarity, as well as adding features not available with projection charts. The eye chart is an integral part of your examination- this enhancement allows us to give you a greater quality of care.
